What is Home Health Care?

Full medical services of traditional home health for treatments such as wound care, high-tech infusion therapy, Foley care, diabetic management, skilled observation and assessment, and other nursing procedures. Nurses will be responsible for teaching you about medication, treatment, disease process and any modifications you may need to manage your disease. Services rendered by Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses consistent with a treatment plan established by the patient's physician.

How much does it cost?

Registered Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants work to help patients regain physical function and improve range of motion. Therapists assist and/or train patients with gait training, use of wheelchair, walkers, artificial limbs, etc., and pain control.

Does anyone qualify for services or is it only for the elderly?

Registered Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants help each patient learn to better perform activities of daily living. Activities may include eating bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting to promote independence. Back to Top

What services are available in the home?

Registered Speech Therapists provides an effective speech program assisting patients in learning to better use and comprehend language. Enhanced written, spoken, and nonverbal communication helps patients gain greater independence and improve quality of life.

Does my insurance cover all the cost?

Home Health Aides/CNA's assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care. Our staff can also provide care to allow caregivers time away from the stresses of caring for a loved one. From grooming, bathing, preparing a light meal to light housekeeping, our staff is available for a vast number of personal duties. Services can be provided on an hourly basis or on per visit basis. Who decides what services I need?

A companion can offer the first link to outside assistance for an elderly person. Companions can for example perform the following tasks: Escort to and from appointments, grocery shopping, monitor changes in health and mental status, cue for medications and advise when refills are needed, provide socialization, cook meals, light housekeeping and laundry.

What if my Medicare is enrolled into a HMO, can I receive services from Harmony Homes of Miami?

Licensed Clinical Social Workers assist patients in solving problems that may arise through illness, including social, financial and transportation problems. Our staff is familiar with a vast number of community resources to aid persons in need.

What if I am receiving services from another Agency but am unhappy with their care, what can I do?


All services above may be provided in the home per visit basis or on an hourly basis. We have CNA's and HHA's that can be placed in the home as needed. These services are generally paid for directly by the customer.
